what’s addiction anyway?

My name is Ashley, and I’m an addict.

It’s been about a year since I subscribed to Netflix. Before that, I was streaming shows online like a damn barbarian. The only downside to having a fast, plentiful repertoire of films and television shows at my fingertips, is that its simplicity makes it nearly impossible to exercise self-restraint, and not hit the “next episode” button. Thankfully, I’ve discovered a way to lessen my guilt of spending hours and hours in front of a screen: write a blog! If there’s a reason for it, it’s not a total waste of time, right?

Each week I’ll review personal “net-picks” and share my thoughts and ratings on it. Hopefully I can entertain and even persuade a few people to watch some of the shows that devour all of my spare time.

About ashleysnetpicks

Hello, my name is Ashley. I completed my undergrad at McMaster University in Communications, and am now working towards a public relations certificate. I’ve also had the chance to work with some really great organizations in the field, including the Canada Border Services Agency, Bayer Inc. and the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology. On a more personal level, I enjoy playing sports, reading and spending time with friends. I also have a “minor” Netflix addiction that I’ve decided to make use of through the majesty of blogging. Enjoy!

Nice. Are you more of a movie person or a series person? 🙂

  2. Definitely more of a series person! I much prefer watching one super long movie that’s cut up into episodes and stretched over the course of years.

I can relate to this! I binge watch tv series all the time. Right now I am on the West Wing because every season is on Netflix. If you haven’t watched it yet you should check it out. But be warned its good and there are seven seasons of one hour episodes. Huge time suck!
